Claudia Fisher, president of the Native Daughters of the Golden
West, in her letter to the Free Lance completely dismissed the
point made by the letter in Citizens Voice.
I applaud the Citizens Voice as it has now established a
debate.
Ms. Fisher skirted the issue the Citizens Voice letter was
addressing about U.S. Rep. Sam Farr getting U.S. taxpayer money for
mission restoration. The U.S. Constitution forbids this. It is fine
for Sam Farr to support mission restoration if he wants to do it in
a private capacity, not from the U.S. treasury. It is also fine for
Native Daughters of the Golden West to support mission restoration
as long as the club members have a vote in favor of it.

At least the Citizens Voice raised the issue which challenged her to respond and at the same time gave her the opportunity to espouse the virtue of the Native Daughters organization.

What difference does it make that the issue was raised without a name attached to it? It makes people think twice.

I challenge Ms. Fisher to debate the issue of separation of church and state, not the historical significance. The historical status is not the issue as I too believe in the history value.”

“I just the want the word to get out to Coach Dukes to make the best possible decision in choosing the new Baler varsity baseball coach because I will be outraged if the job is given to a highly unwanted person, who isn’t just not appreciated by me but by half of the Baler baseball community, Mr. Derek Barnes.”

“Public Defender Greg LaForge is not only one of the top three attorneys in town, he is a real pistol. When he reminded us about Sheriff Curtis Hill’s criminal trial, I laughed myself silly. When is Hill going to learn to stop running off at the mouth and remember he has a very checkered past and sooner or later it will catch up to him…hopefully now.

Hill was not tried once but twice. Once in state court and once in federal court for the vicious beating of three prisoners with their hands cuffed behind their backs. While two other deputies were found not guilty Hill’s trials ended in hung juries. He likes to say the allegations were adjudicated but I have a flash for him, a hung jury is not adjudication…he got lucky.

Also let us not forget the kilo of coke stolen from Hill’s evidence locker along with guns and money. How can he protect us when he can’t even protect his evidence locker.

I wonder if John Sarsfield is going to pull all of the cases Hill worked on since 1979 and call in the FBI. Doubt it!”
