I was told by a reliable source that the Sara Jones letter may
have been written by (Art) Cantu to embarrass the DA. If the DA was
going to write letters under assumed names, he would not pick such
a generic name that is not believable to begin with. I think the DA
is being set up by his former cronies in an attempt to embarrass
him. The timing of the Jones letter and Damkar’s response is too
convenient.

“In regards to the vote of the County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 3 to send a letter to our new governor to object to the reduction in the vehicle license fees, where are they coming from? Doesn’t this Board realize that the voters of this county supported Arnold and Tom McClintock by 62 percent in the recall election and the reason for their support was because of excessive fees that Gray Davis put into place such as the increase in the license fees?

Let’s thank Arnold for keeping his campaign promises and let him know that the Board of Supervisors does not represent the majority of voters of this county.

Please e-mail the governor and show him your support. It was the grassroots that brought on the recall and it will be grassroots again that will make a change in San Benito County.”

“Has anyone noticed that there is no longer any music on the buses? The drivers are no longer allowed to have radios in their buses for the enjoyment of the passengers and we can thank the new COG director for that. I find the music nice to listen to on the bus. The drivers are not allowed to be very friendly, they have to be strictly business and this new COG director has changed the way our bus system in Hollister is, and I think something should be done about it. A lot of people depend on the bus to travel to work and to get to commuter trains and buses, etc., and a lot of people like to listen to the news breaks on the radio station, and unfortunately we won’t be able to have that thanks to him.

Can you imagine riding the bus with no music? It’s going to be very boring, and you have to listen to the kids crying and everything else. The new director, unfortunately, has come from a huge city and he just doesn’t understand small-town aspects. If he thinks that no music in the bus will help the transportation system improve in service, he’s got another thing coming.”

“I agree with Denny Wei on the guy convicted of having two M-80s taped together. Hello, they are a quarter stick of dynamite EACH and can definitely maim, blind and possibly kill someone, including a child or innocent bystander. That does qualify as a bomb, not firecrackers on Chinese New Year’s. Plus, what were his intentions with it? And if you’re dumb enough to be on probation and carrying an explosive device around with you, serious jail time is deserved.”

“Free Lance readers, you are all fools. It is obvious all the negative letters written about Mr. Damkar, Mr. Sarsfield and all the other city council members are false. They all have the same writing style and who in the world has enough time to write all the letters. I’ll tell you, it is all you unemployed free-loaders. So get off your rears, turn off the TV and get a job. I don’t know what to believe in the Citizens Voice anymore.”
