Your paper’s editorial ‘Soap opera continues at DA’s office’ hit
the nail right on the head. I’ve been wondering when somebody would
finally put it all together.
“Your paper’s editorial ‘Soap opera continues at DA’s office’ hit the nail right on the head. I’ve been wondering when somebody would finally put it all together.
The only thing left out was John Sarsfield’s poor treatment of victims. The Santos family, the young Hispanic man who was stabbed 15 times and now this lawsuit, just to name three front page stories. There were other unhappy victims mentioned in the Citizens Voice and I believe in the Letters to the Editor. I’ve been told that this atrocious behavior and treatment of victims is nothing new for Mr. Sarsfield or his DDAs.
As for the county paying Sarsfield and Hill’s attorneys: I say they brought it on themselves, especially after lying to us about being ordered by the Attorney General’s Office to do the ‘Brady’ investigation. They need to pay for their own attorneys, otherwise they won’t learn. Besides, we taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for their political vendettas and costly screw-ups.
Finally, it is time we seriously consider recalling Mr. Sarsfield and remove him from office. He has shown us beyond a reasonable doubt that he is not capable of being our district attorney. Also, any elected official who agrees to pay for his attorney should be on the recall ballot with him – that includes Hill!”
“People, do you know the difference between a contractor and a developer? Don Marcus, candidate for supervisor in District 1, is a contractor. People come to him to build things. He doesn’t buy up land, create commercial and industrial developments or residential tracks as other have. That’s the difference.
He’s in business to provide what the consumer wants, things like San Benito Bank, the YMCA building remodel, day-care centers, etc. He, like other contractors, ‘bid’ on these projects and if Mr. Marcus had the winning bid, he built them.
And please don’t forget, not only is Mr. Marcus a native, he has also worked his way up through the ranks. He formerly worked for the county Assessor’s Office, then for another local contractor and when he ventured out on his own to provide a business to meet other people’s needs and desires, he just happened to succeed.
He figures out his cost with the profit he has to make to not only pay his bills, but to stay in business. And not only does he buy the nails, but he also pounds them.”
“The biggest component of Prop. 56 is unaccountability. It would make it easier for legislators to raise state taxes. That’s a big, bad change. Prop. 56 would open the door to sales, gas, tobacco and liquor tax increases along with a statewide parcel tax, which would destroy the core of Proposition 13 property taxes.
This is a deceptive measure that purports to hold legislators accountable when in fact it would do the opposite. Please vote NO on Prop. 56.”
“Since Shaddox’s ploy is pushing workers out of city positions by offering early retirements, may I suggest he be No. 1. Should any employees choose this avenue, let them follow Shaddox’s lead.”
“Funny, when Schwarzenegger was a politician he promised no new taxes to help balance the budget. Now that he got the majority of you suckers to vote him into office and his title is governor, what’s he doing? Exactly. Raising taxes with Props. 57 and 58. Hope you dummies can see through this. The answer is no, no and no to more taxes. We seniors can’t afford it.”
