Did anybody see the History Channel last week? All they talked
about was the bikers in Hollister, because we are history. We need
better councilmen, somebody that can arrange it better.
“Did anybody see the History Channel last week? All they talked about was the bikers in Hollister, because we are history. We need better councilmen, somebody that can arrange it better. Do you think that because they’re short 40 cops, that’s going to stop the bikers from coming? Come on, it’s a tradition already. They’re going to come one way or the other, so be prepared.”
“‘Outrageous’ is not a strong enough word to explain what the Board of Supervisors is doing. This election tampering by Bob Cruz, the Board and Marian Cruz is reminiscent of Florida in 2000. This is improper for a Board to do this, because it shows bias since one of the candidates is a board member and puts the county in jeopardy of a lawsuit.
Let’s see now, create an issue, and then use taxpayer money allocated by the Board in closed session to oust a candidate whom they did not want to sit on the Board. The Board is supposed to be non-partisan and yet Bob Cruz, who sits on the Board, is being provided all this funding to fight this fight to try to prove a non-issue just to overturn the election results. Jaime De La Cruz is receiving the lashes of the political whip that aren’t deserved. There has been no evidence of wrongdoing on his part, just accusations which put him on the defensive. This is typical of Al Gore and the Democrats in the election of 2000. This campaign to reverse this election or to try to get another election in November is propagated by League of United Latin American Citizens, Bob Cruz, Marion Cruz and the Board.
The Board should never have gotten involved in the first place. They should have allowed the normal channels of election law to take place with the certification. By law, at a later date, they would have their chance to review and declare. Marian Cruz could have then put her challenge for the Secretary of State to check complaints. This involvement of the Board, the bias they are presenting and the taxpayer money they are spending could generate another multimillion dollar lawsuit, which would once again deplete the county funds. LULAC involvement should be investigated, as the suspicions are strong that they had an agenda to help get Bob Cruz elected. They received taxpayer money for their programs that were requested and approved by Chairman Bob Cruz. Bob Cruz was given accolades and a wall plaque at a Board meeting for his support of LULAC. Marian Cruz, his wife, is a sitting member of the Board of Directors of LULAC. If LULAC is in any way involved in trying to overturn this election, their 501(c)(3) status should be revoked. It is time for the District Attorney to investigate this also.”
“People at the county are always complaining about how money is being spent, and we have no idea where it’s going. Does anybody know that at the Welfare Department people who work in the administrative section do not ever work a full day, nor are they ever there a full week? Workers are being overloaded with work. They have an administrative analyst who works there. I sure would like to know her job duties, because all she does is go around slapping the hands of workers.”
