Without batting an eyelash the Free Lance backs the expansion of
homes and sprawl at the San Juan Oaks Golf and Country Club. Scott
Fuller doesn’t care about Hollister or his projects impact. He rode
into town on his high horse telling everyone his project was for
recreation not more housing. Now his

trimmed-down

amount of HOUSES he wants to build is almost 200 homes. That’s
as many as Award Homes was going to build and everyone freaked
out.
This could only happen under the wisdom of the San Benito County
Board of Stupid-visors. Wow, third time.

I wonder how much money is lining the pockets of the supervisors, commissioners, editors and publishers to back this one. They sure are saving millions on all the money they won’t be giving towards local services so I guess there is a lot of cash to go around! Nice.

Get ready Richard, Ruth, Bob and Pat. Can’t wait to see those lame ducks flip-flop on this one. And I can’t wait to see the publishers and editors start their god-like ramblings about this one. Let’s watch it become another holier-then-thou slug-fest that Hollister is so proud of becoming known for. Crack open a cold one and put your feet up, this is going to be one hell of a show. Stay tuned for more of the Bozo Politico-Clown Hour!”

“I see that the city’s tree trimmers finally came out of hiding to do some work. It’s about time.”

“Well here I am writing this little paragraph in response to the little paragraph in your paper about Mr. Anthony Freitas putting his signs in district 5 when he should be putting them up in the district he is running for – Supervisor 2.

Well, he has many relatives and friends in other districts. We ask him for signs because we are his friends. It doesn’t say anything about where they can put their signs as long as they have permission from the owners.

We wish we were in his district because then he would get our vote.”

“I have three children under the Healthy Families program. It has been a lifesaver. My husband lost his job over three years ago and with it went our insurance coverage.

Without the help of Healthy Families, we would be in much more financial woe since one of my children became very ill and without the help of Healthy Families we would have been forced to pay huge medical bills which we still cannot afford at this time.

We are grateful for this program and would hate to see restriction for others who have children with medical needs and are unable to afford adequate insurance premiums through other sources. It is a program that many do not know about and is for middle income families who make too much money to qualify for Medicare but not enough to adequately cover their children through normal channels of insurance.

“Former city manager George Lewis, the darling of the local Democrats, spent the city into oblivion. You can compare what went on during his tenure to the Gray Davis fiscal fiasco. At least the City of Hollister has some substantial reserves to draw on before the red ink sets in. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen and that they can collect the bad debts still outstanding on the books.”
