The Hollister City Council had been set last week to broach an increase for general city fees that correlates with a consumer price index analysis, but city staff asked that the proposal be put off to iron out some details, City Manager Clint Quilter said.
The range of fees includes such costs as those associated with planning applications and engineering permits, Quilter said. It wouldn’t include sewer fees or recreation fees.
Officials are handling recreation fees separately. Those might actually decrease as part of a plan to make the recreation programs more affordable and get back users who stopped taking part when the fees increased two years ago, Quilter noted.
“There were a lot of people where it made it difficult for them to participate in programs,” Quilter said.
The city manager expects citizens would see increases to those charges by around late March.
