Hollister – The City Council and Planning Commission will hold a joint meeting tonight to discuss how Hollister can end its moratorium on apartment-to-condominium conversions.

The council approved the moratorium in February after councilmembers and city staffers said they were concerned that a spate of conversions was threatening the city’s rental stock.

City Manager Clint Quilter said the meeting will give councilmembers and planning commissioners a chance to tell city staffers what kind of ordinance should be created to guide future conversions. Quilter’s tentative schedule calls for the city to pass a new ordinance and lift the moratorium in September.

The meeting will begin at 7pm in City Hall at 375 Fifth Street.
