Hollister – The county Board of Supervisors will consider signing an agreement with consulting firm Bay Area Economics on Tuesday to analyze the economic impact of upcoming development.

If approved, the county’s $100,000 contract with BAE will cover project applications that are submitted between June 12, 2007 through June 12, 2008.

The most substantial application is likely to come from DMB, the company proposing to build a 6,400-unit development in northern San Benito County called El Rancho San Benito. Although BAE’s tasks will include analyzing the El Rancho San Benito proposal, DMB has agreed to pay those costs, according to a planning department staff report.

BAE has previously performed fiscal studies in Coyote Valley and for the Monterey County general plan.

The board meeting will begin at 9:30am Tuesday in the County Administration Building.
