The Hollister City Council will hold a sequel to a midsummer
retreat when it meets Wednesday, Oct. 15 to discuss the immediate
fate of several high-profile projects, including the new wastewater
treatment facility.
The follow-up retreat to an initial July 12 gathering is
scheduled to occur at the Veteran’s Memorial Building at
approximately 5:30 p.m. The Council did not finish all the planned
business in July and, therefore, arranged the October meeting.
The Hollister City Council will hold a sequel to a midsummer retreat when it meets Wednesday, Oct. 15 to discuss the immediate fate of several high-profile projects, including the new wastewater treatment facility.
The follow-up retreat to an initial July 12 gathering is scheduled to occur at the Veteran’s Memorial Building at approximately 5:30 p.m. The Council did not finish all the planned business in July and, therefore, arranged the October meeting.
“It’s about projects that were supposed to be updated or completed by May,” Councilman Tony LoBue said.
Before the retreat, though, the five Council members, City Manager Dale Shaddox and City Attorney Elaine Cass will tour the Hollister Municipal Airport. That portion of the day’s events will begin at 4 p.m.
The Council had also planned to discuss the $15 million Civic Center project, which, with budget constraints, has been halted indefinitely and will possibly be scrapped altogether. Those talks are now off the table.
The second meeting was also planned to discuss general strategies for the future.
“What we would like to see happen in the upcoming year,” LoBue said.
The retreat, under the California open meetings law, the Brown Act, is open to the public.
