San Benito County’s annual budget hearings are set to start Monday morning.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. at the County Administration Building, 481 Fourth St. At the hearings, supervisors analyze each department’s budget and make recommendations to staff for a final budget draft covering the next fiscal year, 2015-16, starting in July.
Supervisors are scheduled to continue the budget hearing at 1:30 p.m. Monday to go over capital outlay items. They would resume budget talks after the regular Tuesday meeting if necessary.
The 2014-15 general fund budget came to about $39 million. The total budget was $141 million, while there were 427 employees on the books.
