celebration of kids, allowing all those under age 12 in for free.

More than 1,000 kids participated in the early morning and afternoon, said fair Chief Executive Officer Kelley Ferreira.
“There was a lot of activity this morning,” Ferreira said.
Allowing kids in for free – and bringing in families – is one of the keys to the fair success, he said.
“We really try to focus on families and the family atmosphere,” he said.
The fair, which run until 10 p.m. tonight and then throughout the weekend, will have live entrainment that will run all evening. Adults will be able to try local wine from the county from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The big draws for Saturday’s events will be the truck pulls starting at 4 p.m. and the junior livestock auction that will run all day. The fair will open at 10 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. On Sunday, the park will open at 10 a.m. but close at 7 p.m.
Each day, the fair will have rides and a series of booths dedicated to fried food and things to stay cool. The fair also has an opening area that has livestock, including pigs and sheep.
Ferreira expects a large crowd over the weekend, eventually using overflow parking, he said.
