There were 39 notices of default during the month and a total of 112 properties at some stage of foreclosure, according to the figures. In March, there was a total of 164 of them in foreclosure, according to RealtyTrac.

The numbers also equated to San Benito County dropping on the statewide ranking to having the 17th-worst foreclosure rate in California. The county has been ranked as low as second on that list.

Overall, one out of every 159 homes in San Benito County were in foreclosure.

The state and nation also saw drops in that month. California had a 25 percent decrease in foreclosures and the country saw a 9 percent drop, according to RealtyTrac.
