The next property in line for possible facade-improvement funds under a redevelopment agency program is the building at 801 San Benito St. that currently houses Pacheco’s Liquor.

Hollister City Council members at their Monday meeting, while sitting as the RDA board, are set to consider a $20,000 loan to Mitch and Catherine Dabo, who own the property. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St.

Under the program, the RDA lends $2 for every $1 in facade improvements funded by the property owner. If the property is not sold within five years, the loan is forgiven.

The Dabos estimate their total costs for the project at a minimum of $37,000, though the city’s contribution will not exceed $20,000.

Most recently, council members approved $40,000 for RDA facade improvements toward two separate K&S Market properties on Tres Pinos Road. Prior to that, the RDA program assisted Paine’s Restaurant with its recent improvements as well.
