$50,000 contribution to the organization.

EDC President Nancy Martin gave a presentation urging the board for the additional money. A month ago, the Hollister City Council agreed to up its annual contribution – through the Hollister Redevelopment Agency – from $50,000 to $75,000.
Three of five supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting, however, indicated they were unwilling to award an additional amount due to budget problems.
San Benito County faces a deficit topping around $10 million for the current fiscal year ending next July.
Martin had noted she hopes to use the extra money to have an assistant on hand in the office. She told supervisors the EDC had a $50,000 deficit last year.
