Southside School puts fairy tale villans on trial today .
In what is sure to be the real trial of the century, Southside School will perform a new rendition of “Fairy Tale Courtroom,” Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium at 4991 Southside Road.
Tickets are $3 adults, $1.50 children, at the door.
The production is divided between two casts, each equally adept at delivering a solid performance.
The two-act irreverent comedy centers on two trials. One trial puts the Big Bad Wolf at the mercy of the court with witnesses like Little Red Riding Hood, two little pigs and one of the Thrree Blind mice who blurts ou during the trial that he saw the whole thing.
“It’s pretty funny, and makes fun of some classic fairy tales,” said Spencer Enriquez, who plays the wolf in one cast.
The second trial prosecuted the Wicked Witch / Evil Queen. The star witnesses in that trial included Snow White, two of the seven dwarves , Cinderella and Prince Charming.
“I thought it was pretty fun because the kids in our school are good actors,” said Natalie Becker, who plays the Wicked Witch in the A’s cast.
