It appears as though Interim City Manager Steve Julian is the lead candidate to take on the position permanently.

District 17 Congressman Sam Farr has scheduled a slate of summer town hall meetings, including one in San Juan Bautista.

The Democrat, who is up for reelection in November, scheduled four town hall meetings. He noted in a statement how it is the 18th consecutive year he has held the gatherings.

This year’s installment of town hall meetings might not attract the same fervor as the 2009 events during a time when the health care debate was the most controversial topic at the federal level. Last August, residents packed the Veterans Memorial Building in Hollister during Farr’s local visit.

The following is the 2010 summer town hall schedule:
