San Benito High School Superintendent John Perales was selected as the winner of the regional award for the State Star Administrator, according to an email from the superintendent.
The award program recognizes school administrators, including superintendents, who provide outstanding service to their local Future Farmers of America program, according to the application form for the award, which was available online.
Perales was nominated by FFA students, selected from a pool of 10 nominees and will go on to compete at the state level, he explained in the email.
On April 3, 19 FFA students also received FFA Golden State Degree Awards in a ceremony held at the Arroyo Grande High School’s Clark Center in Arroyo Grande, Perales explained by email.
