Local health educators are inviting parents to take a few minutes out of their weekend to participate in a free child safety seat checkup that could save their child’s life.

The checkup will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hollister Garage, 369 Fourth St.

San Benito County Health Education, which is sponsoring the event, will have safety seats available for as low as $25. There will also be free low-back boosters available to qualifying low-income families. No checks or bills over $20 will be accepted.

Seats to be checked must be accompanied by the child who uses them and the car they go in.

This is the second time this year that the owners of Hollister Pontiac Buick GMC have provided the use of their facility for the checkup.
