Business owners, employers and employees of local businesses can attend a series of upcoming free workshops to acquire skills in digital media, according to the Gavilan College.

Attendants can learn to create advertising or training materials, produce a video, design a poster or create a walk-through slideshow. The college in a statement notes how you can work on any project you have in mind such as a newsletter you have been wanting to incorporate into your business, or knowing how to correctly and efficiently display photos on a Web site.

They are being held the next four Saturdays – March 6, 13, 20 , 27 – from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

They will be held in the Digital Media Lab, Library 128, on the Gavilan College Gilroy campus, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd.

The workshop is sponsored by the Institute for Digital Media Entertainment (IDME), designed for local businesses to help them gain and improve digital media skills through work on business-related projects. Participants will have access to instructors, tutors, online instructional video and suggested readings.

Pre-registration is not necessary. All are welcome to attend. For more information, e-mail [email protected].
