Just in time for holiday travelling, gas prices have dropped nationally, statewide and on a local level. As a matter of fact, according to the AAA Web site, gas prices have fallen for the last 18 weeks in a row.

Locally, a gallon of gas could be found at either Quick Stop or Toro Petroleum for $1.89 a gallon. The most expensive gasoline topped out the day before Thanksgiving at a price that would have had people lined up around the block a month ago – just $2.09. These prices are less than half of what locals were paying just five months ago in July. The state average on June 15 was $4.58 per gallon of regular gas.
