San Benito Stage Company is proud to present their latest installment in play production, “Guys and Dolls.”

Directed by Kathy Tom, the story follows four different characters throughout New York City in the 1940s.

Hollister’s very own Nicole Rayner will be playing Sarah Brown, an uptight “mission doll” out to reform the evildoers of Time Square. Christian Barrera will be playing Sky Masterson, the high rolling gambler who woos Sarah Brown on a bet and ends up falling in love with her. Colleen Chipman will be performing as Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact that she’s been engaged to the same man for 14 years. Robert Jerome will be performing as Adelaide’s fiance, always desperate to find a spot for his infamous floating craps game.

The planning for this production has been going on since February. Auditions were held in mid-April and rehearsals began in the month of May. The cast ranges in age from 8 years and up, and about 40 to 45 actors will be performing.

This year’s summer show is different than previous productions – besides being San Benito Stage Company’s 10 year anniversary, the play will be donating a portion of the funds received to the Tess Kelly Scholarship Fund.

Tess Kelly, who recently turned 16, had her mother pass away unexpectedly. Her mother was very involved with San Benito Stage Company and with her passing came a great loss to everyone in the theater community. Kelly, who is an A student, now has a scholarship in her name to help her move forward in life.

Ticket pricing is $16 for general admission and $13 for children and seniors. Showings will be July 17 through Aug 2, with 8 p.m. shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays. All performances will be at The Granada Theatre, 336 5th St. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at Postal Graphics.
