Born in Cushing, OK, Helen attended college at Wichita State College and then Boulder Colorado Business College. She started teaching at the age of 17. She taught school in Kansas for eight years. She then moved to California and taught school in Riverside, and in 1961 she moved to San Jose where she taught school in the San Jose Unified School District. In 1980 she retired to Kansas.
In 1934, she married Mike Woolman who passed away in 1985. They had no children. Helen then returned to California where she then taught ESL in San Jose Unified and then located to Morgan Hill where she taught at the Christian School.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011, at 6:00 P.M. at Morgan Hill Bible Church, 15055 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Helen’s memory to Morgan Hill Bible Church or the charity of your choice. She will be laid to rest in Maize, Kansas.
