October 21, 1931 – May 7, 2017
Hilarion A. Guaracha, a life long resident of San Benito County, suddenly passed on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the age of 85. Hilarion moved to California in 1958 and lived in San Juan Bautista and Hollister. He worked for Cal-Turf Sod Company for over 30 years until he retired at the age of 72. After retirement, he did not stop, as he spent most of his time caring for and being a chauffeur for many of his grandkids. He would often be seen on his daily morning walk alone or with one of his three dogs, visiting family and friends as well as caring for many of his backyard fruit trees.

Hilarion was preceded in death by the love of his life, Alejandrina Guaracha who passed away in 2001, having been married for over 40 years. He is survived by five sons and four daughters (chronological order) Javet Guaracha, Heath Guaracha, Nash Guaracha, Nora Guaracha-Brady, Tony Guaracha, Connie Guaracha-Herndon, Eddie Guaracha, Cathy Guaracha and Adriana Guaracha.
His legacy also lives on with seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Hilarion is also survived by his siblings, Baltazar Guaracha, Osvaldo Ramirez, Carmen Melgoza, Moises Ramirez and Barbara Moreno.
The Rosary will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 7:00pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 363 7th Street in Hollister. The Mass will be on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Mission San Juan Bautista at 11:00am with interment following the Mass at San Juan District Cemetery.
