The San Benito County Historical Society members plan to relocate one of the original hose companies to the Historical Park on Airline Highway Saturday. On the same day volunteers will be conducting a spring cleaning at the park.

relocate one of the original hose companies for the Hollister Fire
Department to its park along Airline Highway.
Hose Company No. 2, located in Swope Alley, was part of the
original organization of the department in 1875, when there was one
hook-and-ladder company and two hose companies formed, according to
the historical society. The structure’s owner, Martin Arias, is
donating it to the historical society.
The Hollister Fire Department’s union also is helping with a
donation and volunteer support. The firehouse will be an

exciting addition

to the Historical Park, according to the society.
