Dear Editor,

Interesting column about the (lack of the) Sharks (Free Lance Nov. 11).

Myself, I’ll take hockey over all the other major sports (with football a close second).

However, I’m thrilled to see the lockout. It’s time to let it implode and from said implosion will come the needed reform.

When I was in Montreal in 1991, cheap seats at the Forum were seven American dollars. SEVEN. When the Sharks came into existence, I was a season ticket holder, and cheap seats were $10. I don’t know what they were last year; I haven’t gone for a while.

Greed will kill the sport. I forget which player said it, but he described “monied morons” in Detroit and a few other cities offering ridiculous contracts.

Remember when Pavel Bure demanded $10 million a season and the idiot in Florida gave it to him?
