Trustees unanimously endorsed Superintendent Gary McIntire's plans for Calaveras School at this week's meeting.

Hollister School District trustees increased the salary schedule for classified staff by 3 percent retroactive to July 1, 2015 with an additional increase to take effect the following July.
Earlier this month, trustees approved a 3 percent salary increase for managers and offered the same pay hike to two other employee groups, including classified staff and teachers.
The district reached an agreement with the California School Employees Association’s local chapter two weeks ago, and it has been approved by its membership, Assistant Superintendent Dennis Kurtz told trustees at the school board meeting last week. The cost of the increase will be $226,824 in the 2015-16 year, with an additional $78,265 added in the following school year due to the automatic 1 percent hike July 1, 2016, according to background information from the meeting agenda.
At the same meeting, trustees approved a 1 percent increase effective July 1 of next year for the non-represented management group, which included most employees in the district office as well as occupational therapists, principals, assistant principals and directors.
The non-represented management group, which does not have a union, is traditionally awarded pay hikes on a “me too” basis with other groups, according to the agenda packet. The superintendent and the assistant superintendent are not part of this group. The cost of adding a 1 percent increase for 2016-17 will be about $41,970, according to the agenda.
The changes do not affect the district’s positive certification status for the budget, according to the agenda packet. The district will exceed the state-mandated minimum 3 percent reserve for the 2015-16 budget year and the two following years, according to the packet.
