Hollister School District trustees Tuesday evening are set to discuss a proposed $39 million facilities bond and whether to place it on the June primary ballot.
Trustees at the special meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. at the district office will weigh the bond measure and whether to place it on the June 3 ballot. District officials in January reviewed survey results showing voters likely would approve the measure needing 55 percent support.
In November, the Hollister district followed the San Benito High School District by indicating support for a bond measure on a June or November ballot. The measure would raise $30 per $100,000 of assessed property values. The deadline to make a decision for the June ballot is March 7.
Despite declining enrollment in recent years, district officials believe the number of housing projects planned in the area is an indicator of likely, future growth and increasing enrollment.
Look back for more.
