The Hollister School District will be hosting grief support counseling this week at Marguerite Maze Middle School, where Joshua Rodriguez, 11, should have been a seventh grade student next month. 
Rodriguez was killed Monday afternoon when a county transit bus struck his bicycle on Memorial Drive at Verdun Avenue.
Grief counseling support will be provided from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday July 31 at Maze, according to the statement published to the Hollister School District’s website Thursday July 30.
“We are all deeply saddened after learning the tragic news this week about the loss of Joshua Rodriguez,” read the message from the superintendent posted to the district’s website. “I would like to express our sympathy to Joshua’s family, friends and all those in our school community who knew him.”
The district will continue to provide grief support services at school when classes start Aug. 17, the statement explained. The superintendent suggested the following links for those struggling with grief:
