paper, I am in agreement with the hiring of within for the position
of chief of police.

Regarding the letter from Richard Boomer that was in Tuesday’s paper, I am in agreement with the hiring of within for the position of chief of police.
When there are qualified candidates as we have, we (as a city) have missed this opportunity before. Let’s not make the same mistake again.
For those who missed it, Richard Boomer’s letter brought forth the name of Richard Vasquez for the position of chief of police. Richard Vasquez is a captain with the Hollister Police Department.
I am also in agreement with this choice.
