Hollister – It may be getting hot here in Hollister, but the recent heat wave isn’t record-breaking and locals should see cooler temperatures this weekend.

The Eastern-Pacific high pressure ridge standing over the West Coast pushed temperatures to 100 degrees Wednesday, National Weather Service Meteorologist Mike Delman said. Thursday temperatures were expected to soar to 104 degrees.

Although hot, the temperatures weren’t record-breaking. The 107-degree record for June 14 in Hollister was set in 2000. Delman said the heat wave that hit Hollister in 2000 set record-breaking temperatures in 10 different Bay Area locations.

Delman said temperatures were expected to cool off Friday and over the weekend before heating up again Monday.
