San Benito senior basketball players Victoria Aguilera and Vanessa Casalegno have been selected to play in the third annual Salinas Steinbeck Rotary Club North-South All-Star Basketball Classic on Friday at the Boys and Girls Club in Salinas.

The game will showcase the top senior boys and girls from the tri-county area (Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz) in a college-format game, including two 20-minute halves.

Both Aguilera and Casalegno will play for the North team, which will be coached by Zach Cook of North Monterey County.

Aguilera was the Tri-County Athletic League’s MVP after depositing a league-high 14.78 points per game, while Casalegno was a second team selection and did most of her damage on the defensive end for the Lady Balers.

The all-star game is a charity event put on by the Steinbeck Rotary Club with proceeds going toward the Boys and Girls Club of Salinas and the Sunrise House, which is a youth and family crisis center in Salinas.

Game time for the girls is 6 p.m., with the boys game to follow at about 7:30 p.m.
