Honor a life

HOLLISTER – Hospice Foundation is offering a chance to remember loved ones who have died at the Downtown Hollister tree lighting ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Plaza, 649 San Benito St., Friday, Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. Residents can name a light in honor of a loved one for a donation of $25. The money supports hospice and end of life care in San Benito County.

Donation envelopes can be picked up at San Benito Bank, the Chamber of Commerce, and the gift shop at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital.

American Red Cross Mobile Blood Drive

HOLLISTER- The American Red Cross mobile blood drive will be in Hollister on Thursday, Jan. 3 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Church Hall on 1670 Cienega Road.

In Gilroy, the blood drive will be Thursday, Jan. 10 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Church Hall at 8455 Wren Ave.

Holte Holiday Dinner

HOLLISTER- The Holte Holiday Dinner will be held Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25 at the Community Center on 300 West St. Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Each child will receive a Christmas gift.

For questions about volunteering, please call Larry Brown at 637-9037. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old.

Any charitable organization that wishes to receive gifts for distribution can contact the St. Benedict’s and Sacred Heart office at 637-9212 for more information.
