City workshops on zone ordinance

– The city of Hollister Development Services staff will be
hosting the first in a series of workshops on zoning ordinance
revision Thursday, Aug. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the City
Council Chambers, 375 Fifth St. The first workshop will discuss new
construction in existing neighborhoods and h
igher density housing in existing neighborhoods. The workshop
topics will focus on the older residential areas of Hollister,
including Third Street, Line Street, Nash Road and Prune Street.
Spanish translators will be available.

– Roger Crawford, America’s possibility coach, will be giving a
free inspirational workshop for San Benito youth Tuesday, Aug. 7 at
1:30 p.m. in Mattson Gym at San Benito High School.
Crawford will talk about how to build character and
sportsmanship. He has been giving inspirational speeches for more
than 25 years. The event is sponsored by San Benito County 4-H, the
San Benito County Office of Education and San Benito High School
