Hollister police have recommended charges against a 14-year-old resident in connection with the Aug. 4 armed robbery at Taco Bell on San Felipe Road, according to police.

Investigators have developed information on the juvenile, already in custody, linking him with the armed robbery at about 9:55 p.m. at the Taco Bell, 40 San Felipe Road.

One of the suspects brandished a rifle and demanded money, receiving it from restaurant employees, before fleeing the area on foot.

The same 14-year-old suspected of involvement in the Taco Bell incident was arrested Oct. 5 following an armed robbery at El Epazote Taqueria on McCray Street. On Oct. 9, detectives executed a search warrant at the juvenile’s home and recovered evidence also substantiating him as a gang member.

Additional recommended charges of robbery, conspiracy and gang enhancements have been added to the case, while the investigation is continuing to determine the other suspect in the Taco Bell robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Theresa Aguilera at (831) 636-4330 or residents can report crimes anonymously at (800) 78-CRIME and may be eligible for a reward.
