BLM has taken away a prized area in Clear Creek
The BLM has taken away the most prized OHV area in California,
the Clear Creek Management Area just outside Hollister, California.
Thousands of Families who recreate there by hiking, hunting and OHV
access are denied to enjoy our public lands.
For over a year we have protested the closure, as well as
countless experts who have debunked a report issued by the EPA
about false risks at CCMA.
There is no reason that the BLM should keep our public lands at
Clear Creek closed.
We demand that the Clear Creek public lands park is reopened to
all access immediately.
Please, take action to reopen Clear Creek today and restore our
community activities, economy and family value for outdoor
recreation.

Voters approved Prop. 2 because of conditions
If out-of-state egg producers don’t want their eggs to rot away in the supermarkets, they should at least give their hens enough space to spread their wings. California voters overwhelmingly supported Proposition 2 because we believe that it’s unethical to cram birds in tiny, filthy cages. For that reason, we should support AB 1437 – the bill that will require out-of-state egg companies to comply with our more humane standards. I believe that the best way to help hens is to not buy eggs at all, but if AB 1437 passes, it will help lessen the suffering of countless hens around the country, and that’s something everyone, everywhere, can get behind.

Peace group wants to save local tax dollars
As a new community group we have gotten together to avoid confusion and misinformation. The good news is that we could save taxpayers mismanagement of funds just by informing them where exactly over $250 million went. Imagine exactly what the amount of hard cash could do for this community. We could easily see less suffering in our schools, hospitals, and library, in our city and county offices and on our roads.
If you haven’t guessed that amount of funds went missing to directly fund the war in Iraq. Instead of being known as people for proper use of tax funds, we are, “Hollister People for Peace.”
Our next function is rapidly approaching in two weeks on June 27. It is quick notice because we will feature a returning military veteran from a local family. He wants to share with his home community his stories and the stories of his buddies. We will keep you informed.
