Rally Organizers Will Get 100 Percent of his Support, Help
Editor,
I am writing to you about a response you received from Charisse Tyson about a letter I wrote on the Hollister Rally.
First of all, the letter came out over a week after I wrote it. During that week I received updated information which would have directly influenced my opinion as well as the opinions of many others.
Since my article I have spoken to many key people who are directly or indirectly involved in the upcoming Hollister Rally.
From what I understand by talking to these “people” (to remain anonymous) is that Horse Power Promotions and The new Hollister Rally people have truly developed a lot of “safety net” proposals to protect the vendors and the City of Hollister as well.
I will say from what I know now I would give Seth, Charisse, and the City of Hollister a “Thumbs Up” and to proceed soon as possible to insure a profitable rally for all.
I do have one thing to say to Charisse Tyson: In your rebuttal about my e-mail about upcoming rally concerns, you said it was IMPOSSIBLE to know what vendors paid their money for the 2005 rally, as the HIRC (Hollister Independence Rally Committee) would not give you proper info as to ascertain who paid money and to what vendor locations us vendors should have. You also said you would do the best you could.
Charisse: Everyone of us vendors has written proof of some form stating deposit amounts and space numbers. I myself have all of this documentation. Most vendors (not all) would be most likely to have some form of “paper trail proof.” For those who don’t, their locations can easily be verified by the surrounding vendors as most of us are like family with each other. We would be protecting ourselves as well as your placement decisions by providing you the accurate data.
As for me being hot-headed, Charisse, please accept my apology. Please take into consideration that after my ninth year of doing Hollister I was able to finally obtain a 20’x20′ booth right on the corner of Sixth Street and San Benito. It took me nine years to obtain this location in which I lost a $2,700 deposit. Having said this, if you guys can obtain your objectives as set forth in your proposals you definitely have 100 percent of my support and I will personally do anything within my power to help you guys in any way possible. Thank you!
