The Hollister Lioness Club has been selling entertainment books full of hundreds of 50-percent off and 2-for-1 discounts for fine dining, fast food, movies, sporting events, activities, hotels and special attractions in the area. Offers last for another seven months until Nov. 1, said Kathy Ritter, Hollister Lioness Club entertainment chairperson.

The books originally sold for $20 but are now $10. The club ordered more than 600 of the books, Ritter said.

Proceeds from every book support the Lioness Club, which supports local projects, including Christmas baskets for the less-fortunate and donations to youth groups, senior citizens and the new Emmaus House, Ritter said.

The discounts cover the Hollister, Salinas, Monterey, Morgan Hill and Santa Cruz areas.

Entertainment books are available at Heritage Cleaners in the Nob Hill shopping center on Airline Highway, at Hothouse Expressions on San Benito Street in downtown Hollister, or by calling Ritter at 637-1356.
