More than 30 artists from San Benito County will open the doors of their studios to the public on April 26 and 27 at the Open Studio tours.

Residents interested in seeing the works of local painters, sculptors, ceramic artists and others are invited to attend the event, sponsored by the San Benito Artists League.

Residents can literally go to the artists’ home or studio to review their works and talk to the artist about their inspiration, motivation and what they hope their works will accomplish.

Maps of participating artists are available at the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce and the YMCA of San Benito County.

The only criteria for artists to participate in the studio tour is that they practice n one of the fine arts, which include painting, sculpture or ceramics.

The annual event has been popular with both artists and art lovers for a number of years. Dedicated art collectors can, at certain studios, buy works from artists they admire or believe have talent.
