Hancock – It would be Fourth of July without a Will Smith blockbuster. This year Smith play’s Hancock, a super hero with a bad idea who hires a public relations firm to help him clean up his image. But will things go wrong when Hancock starts to put the moves on Mary (Charlize Theron) the wife of his PR guru Ray (Jason Bateman). Action, PG-13.

The Happening – M. Night Shyamalan makes what some are calling his comeback with this latest apocalyptic thriller. A family flees the city when they hear reports of impending terrorists attacks, but soon they find the terror isn’t something they can escape. Starring Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel. Thriller, R.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – Harrison Ford is taking on his role as Indiana Jones once again. This new movie skips ahead to the cold war, and for anyone who thinks the 65-year-old Ford is going to take it easy, he’s said to see as much action as his young sidekick Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf). Action, PG-13.

The Incredible Hulk – Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) is back and this time he needs to use the mutation that transforms him into a rampaging green monster to stop a former soldier who has used the same genetic accident for even more dangerous means. Starring Liv Tyler, Tim Roth and Tim Blake Nelson. Action, PG-13.

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl – During the Great Depression, 10-year-old Kit Kittredge (Abigail Breslin) lives in a boarding house with her parents in Ohio. She has a passion for writing and wants to someday put out her own newspaper, with the help of her friends. Based on the American Girl dolls, it also stars Julia Ormond and Chris O’Donnell. Family comedy, G.

Kung Fu Panda – Po the Panda (voiced by Jack Black) needs to save the Valley of Peace from an enemy snow leopard, but he will need to train with Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) before he can do it. Other characters voiced by Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen and Angelina Jolie. Animated, PG.

Little Giants – A group of misfit peewee football players join their own team and are coached by their misfit dads. Starring Rick Moranis, Ed O’Neill and Shawna Waldron. Family comedy, PG.

The Love Guru – Pitka (Mike Myers) is an American who was raised by gurus in another country. He returns to the United States to start a self-help business. He soon finds himself helping a hockey player (Justin Timberlake) whose career and love life are on the rocks. Also starring Jessica Alba, with cameos by Deepak Chopra and Rob Blake. Comedy, PG-13.

Wall-E – A robot – a Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth Class – remains on Earth long after the last human is gone. In 2700, a sleek new robot lands on Earth and discovers that Wall-E has found the secret to saving the planet. Animation, G.

Wanted – Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is an average Joe, kind of a nobody until he meets Fox (Angelina Jolie). When his estranged father is murder, Fox shows up to teach him how to avenge his father’s death. Also starring Morgan Freeman and Terence Stamp. Action, R.

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan – Zohan (Adam Sandler) is a Mossad agent who has never met his match when he decides to leave the world of war to become a hairstylist in New York. His new life is going well when a former enemy discovers him in the Big Apple and blows his cover. Starring John Turturro and Emmanuelle Chriqui. Comedy, PG-13.

Vantage Point – A thriller with a different twist, “Vantage Point” takes viewers through the story from the point of view of several characters when the U.S. president is targeted for assassination while visiting Spain. Starring Dennis Quaid, Sigourney Weaver, Forest Whitaker and Matthew Fox. On Blu-ray and DVD.

Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns – Brenda (Angela Bassett) decides to attend the funeral of her estranged father in Georgia and meets many of her family members for the first time. She hasn’t had an easy life and still has some resentments against her father abandoning her with her prostitute mother. On DVD and Blu-Ray.

Gangs of New York – The epic piece on the early violence in New York City, is now available on Blu-Ray. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day Lewis and Cameron Diaz. on Blu-Ray.

My Blueberry Nights – The first English film from Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai is yet another film about lovesickness. Elizabeth (Norah Jones) is heartbroken when her boyfriend leaves her for another woman, and she takes up baking pies at a local cafe owned by Jeremy (Jude Law). But that is just the beginning for Elizabeth who continues her journey in Vegas. On DVD and Blu-Ray.

Drillbit Taylor – Three misfit teens hire a down-on-his-luck ex soldier to protect them from bullies. He bongs with the kids and realizes his own life isn’t so bad. Starring Owen Wilson. On DVD and Blu-Ray.

Television series released June 24

The Closer season three – Kyra Sedgwick stars in this crime drama set in Los Angeles as Deputy Police Chief Brenda Johnson, who has an uncanny ability to read people and get confessions.

Mad Men season one – This series follows a prestigious New York ad agency in the 1960s with a focus on Donald Draper (Jon Hamm).
