Someone drove into the store front last week, but you can still get your favorite sushi and other dishes because they've remained open.

Hoang says he was called in to the restaurant by police who were
there with the fire department when he arrived. The vehicle was
towed, and Hoang says he started on cleanup right away so that he
could open the same day.

Miyako restaurant remains open after a car smashed into the store front last week.

“It is lucky no customers were here,” says owner Eddy Hoang, who adds that the accident.

A window was shattered and a large flowerbed made of brick was smashed in the accident, which also caused significant damage to the front door.

Hoang says he was called in to the restaurant by police who were there with the fire department when he arrived. The vehicle was towed, and Hoang says he started on cleanup right away so that he could open the same day.

The owner of the popular restaurant says that he doesn’t know if the driver was arrested or if he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

“I am just happy to keep my restaurant open,” says Hoang.

Representatives of the Hollister Police Department did not immediately return calls asking for information on the accident.
