MORGAN HILL –– A party attended by teenagers and 20-year-olds at a private home got out of control late Saturday night, leading to several arrests by Morgan Hill Police.

Eric Silveira, 20, of San Martin, was taken to county jail and charged with resisting arrest, battery of a peace officer and damaging jail property.

Anthony Borges, 20, of Morgan Hill, was cited and released, charged with delaying or resisting a peace officer.

Nyssa Biesiadecki, 18, of Morgan Hill, was cited and released, charged with supplying alcohol to minors and public intoxication.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday morning, neighbors called police to report a loud party at 2940 Bent Oak Lane, where Biesiadecki lives, off East Dunne Avenue in the Jackson Oaks area. Three MHPD officers responded to the call. As they approached the house, which is located on a hill, they could see minors drinking alcohol on a balcony.

When officers went to the front door, they were confronted by Silveira, who refused to let the officers enter. Police described Silveira as “combative,” and they were in the process of subduing him when Borges ran up and also became confrontational. Borges was repeatedly warned to stay back as officers continued to struggle with Silveira, but he did not, police said.

As the struggle continued, the teens on the balcony, mostly minors between the ages of 16 and 20, threw full beer cans and bottles at the officers below. The officers called for backup, as there were approximately 50-70 minors at the party. California Highway Patrol officers and Sheriff’s Department deputies were quick to arrive.

The party was shut down and the teens sent home.

“When you have that many people to deal with, notifying the parents, you need to have other officers to assist,” MHPD Lt. Joe Sampson said.

The owners of the home were out of town at the time and were notified of the incident by MHPD.
