Gilroy – A Fresno motorcyclist was killed Sunday night on Highway 152 when he lost control of his motorcycle at 75 mph and flipped.

Investigators are unsure what caused the accident. The man, 53, was driving a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Highway 152 just after 9:30pm Sunday when the cycle careened out of control, overturning multiple times.

No other cars were involved, and no one else was injured. Fresno County paramedics happened to be in the area and attended to the man. An hour later, the highway was closed to both eastbound and westbound traffic to allow an air ambulance to land and transport the victim to Saint Louise Regional Hospital, where he later died.

The victim’s name could not be released by press time Monday, pending family notification.

The highway was reopened just before 11pm Sunday. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash and authorities say they are unsure if alcohol played a role in the accident.
