HOLLISTER
Hollister in the past week has seen more rain than the area normally gets during an entire February.
With the state’s winter storm departing the area, the total amount of precipitation since Feb. 10 has been 2.9 inches, said forecaster Bob Benjamin with the National Weather Service office in Monterey.
Of that rainfall, three-quarters of an inch came down in the past 24 hours alone, he said. It should give way to a few lingering showers overnight, while the area should be fairly dry through Friday, Benjamin said.
This coming weekend, there is a chance of rain, but he said the “jury’s still out” regarding the timing and how much could potentially fall.
The recent storm brings the total February precipitation to 4.3 inches – while the average rainfall for the month is 2.63 inches.
