Dear Editor:
What a pleasure it is to live in this great United States of America. As we celebrated our 228th year of freedom over the weekend, I hope you paused to be grateful for our freedom.
While visiting the moveable Vietnam wall, my emotions were high as I touched the names of some of the 58,000 who died for our freedom. I appreciate each person who gave their life so that I could have the chance to be free. We enjoy so much that people in other countries only dream about. If you went to a fireworks celebration, attended a barbecue or walked downtown to see the sights, remember someone fought for your freedom. The sacrifices made must never be forgotten. We need to honor and respect our country. We live in the greatest place in the world and we need to appreciate our country and our own San Benito County.
Never forget what sacrifices were made so that we could enjoy the lifestyles we do. God bless the United states and San Benito County!
