Dear Editor:

After reading the article about the man who was caught by perverted-justice.com and how they contacted his work and neighbors so they would know the man is a pedophile, I ran to the computer to check it out.

I was amazed at what the Web site had to offer. While their verbiage was not very tasteful, I still feel these people are working hard to try to protect our children from these predators. They had over 600 men from across the country listed on their Web site. While there was only one from Hollister, I called friends from different parts of the country to check it out. These people could be their neighbor, coach, teacher, friend, etc. I am impressed with the hard work these people are doing to notify the public.

It was stated that this was done unjustly, but unfortunately the justice system doesn’t do much to notify the public unless the offender is high risk. There are a lot of pedophiles in San Benito County that just go about their lives as usual, and no one would even know unless they go check out Megan’s Law. Some people are never even convicted because they have a good attorney. That doesn’t mean they still didn’t do the sick things they were accused of. It’s a sad world when we don’t know who we can trust.
