Council OKs marketing study for hotel development
Hollister City Council members Monday approved a market study that is designed to help the city decide if a new downtown hotel is a “viable development opportunity.”

Victoria’s celebrates 30 years
Sept. 28 marked the 30-year anniversary for Victoria's Mexican Restaurant, 757 First St. Owners and family partners, Linda Prieto, Carmen Mendosa, Patricia Prieto, Melinda Hathaway, Vikki Prieto-O'Hara and Donald Prieto were on hand to welcome guests - even Elvis stopped by.
Center applies for grant
Extreme Learning Center has applied for a $250,000 grant from Chase as part of a newly launched program, Mission Main Street Grants. Extreme Learning Center must submit a questionnaire outlining a business plan that will result in growth of the business and receive at least 250 votes to be eligible for a grant. Customers, fans and community members can show support for Extreme Learning Center by voting at www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/business/detail/23090. Voting deadline is Nov. 15. The recipients will be announced in January 2014.

Cappy Myers joins Coldwell Banker
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announces that Cappy D. Myers has joined the company as a sales associate in its Morgan Hill office. Myers will specialize in residential sales. Prior to joining Coldwell Banker, Myers was an independent real estate broker and a practicing California real estate attorney. Myers earned his law degree from the Golden Gate University School of Law in 2004, where he also received a Real Estate Law Certificate with Distinction. He is married to Nicole, a successful family law attorney in Santa Clara County, with whom he has two children.
Updated: Coroner IDs Hollister man, 25, killed in Stockton wreck
A 25-year-old Hollister man was killed in Stockton on Sunday in a three-vehicle accident, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Police allege man found with knife after chase
Police on Saturday arrested a man after a chase starting at the local Jack In The Box restaurant, according to the Hollister Police Department.
