Kirby and No-no Lulu: The ‘hounds from hell’
Kirby and No-no Lulu look calm and innocent - but in reality they are just taking a well-deserved break from their full-time job as the neighborhood hounds from hell. This job includes barking at anything that moves (from tree leaves to the tiny white dog down the street whom they both hate for reasons which are not known to me), stealing the left shoe from every pair I own, eating the teenager’s socks, sitting on the living room furniture when nobody is home and attacking the TV when a dog comes on. In their off time they enjoy sitting on that couch, which is fairly new since No-no Lulu ate the last one.
Peanut and Sedona: A pair of blessings
These are our two furry children Peanut (in flowered vest) and Sedona. They are both Yorkshire terriers. We have had Peanut for 13 years and she has always been quite a character. When she was a puppy she would break out of her collar and leash to run in circles on the street and take on big dogs. She has always had a love of life and thinks that everybody is her best friend!
Pax: A long flight
Pax (right) was born June 4, 2013 and joined our family on Aug. 22, 2013. He flew to California from Arkansas. He is a beautiful silver Lab. He has learned to sit, stay and lie down. He is a very smart puppy. He enjoys playing with his toys and swimming in his new pool.
Neva: Adopted by a dog
For 73 years I have been a cat person. This year my daughter and son-in-law moved in with me and my two cats, bringing with them their cat (nice!) and their dog (horrors!).
Feo: ‘Loyal, protective and beautiful’
What can I say about my friend Feo? He's loyal, protective and beautiful.
Bowie: ‘My right paw man’
I never thought my best friend would come in the form of a 10-pound mini-dachshund. That’s exactly what Bowie is though, my best buddy.
Overnight work to start Sunday along 156, 101
An overnight pavement marker replacement project along Highway 156 and Highway 101 in San Benito and Monterey counties will begin Sunday night, Caltrans announced.
Diesel: The great protector
Our dog Diesel is a black Lab mix and he has nine lives. We rescued him nine years ago from a high-kill shelter, when he was 10 months old and had only three days left to live. He’s grown up with our now 5-year-old daughter and our 7-month-old daughter. He is 100 percent a part of our family.
Carly: New to the family
This is my new best friend and dog Carly. She is special to me because she is very funny and she’s new to my family. She lets me dress her up and LOVES to sleep with people! Carly likes to play ball and fetch with me. If she sees cats, she will chase them and lick them. She likes to go where ever I go. She is almost potty trained. When I go to sleep, she wants to lay with me and she licks my face a lot! She also keeps in shape by chasing a laser light.
Pheona: The simple life
Pheona is a 3-year-old German shepard/corgi mix from the San Martin Shelter. She enjoys napping in the sun, swimming at the lake, eating cat poop and long walks on the beach. She's but a simple dog.
