San Benito County’s library staff is in line to receive a $30,000 state grant to buy needed infrastructure as the institution plans for technology upgrades.

The Nov. 4 election day is less than two months away but campaigners haven’t put up signs supporting Measure M, an item on the upcoming ballot that proposes a general obligation facilities bond of $28.5 million for the Hollister School District.

A bill from Assemblyman Luis Alejo and State Sen. Anthony Cannella to relieve San Benito County of $3.5 million in debt unanimously passed through an Assembly committee Wednesday, according to Alejo’s office.

Not all plans are erasable.

The Hollister School District had been billed $19,200 through October from its contracted legal firm that developed a report detailing “deficiencies” in a charter school petition, according to figures released to the Free Lance.
