The San Benito County Sheriff’s department will be hosting a
National Night Out today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the San Benito
High School Football Field.
The San Benito County Sheriff’s department will be hosting a National Night Out today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the San Benito High School Football Field.

The 27th annual National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event. The event will include a guest speaker, community partner booths, a free hot dog and soda, local entertainment for children and give aways. For more information, call Bridgette Lyons at 630-5194.

Kids at the Park, meanwhile, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dunne Park. Families are invited to meet McGruff, Ciggy Butts and Smokey the Bear. They will also be able to see a Calstar helicopter, ambulances, fire engines and Spark’s Safety House.

There will also be 30 interactive booths for children to learn about safety and health. Please contact Dolores Villalon at the Hollister Youth Alliance at 636-2853 to sign up to volunteer or Mary Anne Hughes at the Community Food Bank at 637-0340 for more information about this annual family event.
