Manuel S. Duarte died at his Hollister home after a lengthy illness. He was 60.

Mr. Duarte had been a resident of San Benito County his whole life and worked with Viking Door Company. He and his wife, Lilia, were married Sept. 7, 1993 in Reno. He was a member of Mission San Juan Bautista.

He is survived by his wife, Lilia Duarte of Hollister, his brothers, Augustine Duarte, Ralph Duarte, Ramon Duarte and Pete Duarte all of Hollister and Lupe Duarte of Gilroy, his sisters, Lucy Herrera of San Jose, Mary Avalos and Sheila Duarte of Hollister, Paula Serrato of Salinas, Delores Rodriguez of Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Augustine and Francisca Duarte, sisters, Josie Ortega and Annie Sahagun, brothers, Manuel and Rudy Duarte and Johnny and Rudy Duarte.

A Mass of Christian Burial has been held at Old Mission San Juan Bautista with interment and graveside services at San Juan District Cemetery.

Joey K. DeLaRosa

Joey K. DeLaRosa died Nov. 18th at Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. He was three days old and born in Salinas.

He is survived by his father and mother, Joseph DeLaRosa and Kahealani Morales of Hollister and his grandparents, Glenda LeMay of Hollister, Joel DeLaRosa of Hollister, Annie Ashcraft of Fresno, Roger Morales of Salinas and Pete and Laura Pravettoni of Lewisville, Tex.

Graveside services were at Calvary Cemetery.

Eileen S. Davidson

Eileen S. Davidson, a longtime San Benito County resident, died Nov. 23, 2002 at home after a short illness. She was 90.

Mrs. Davidson moved from Statesville, N.C., 44 years ago and enjoyed her life as a homemaker. She loved listening to blues and jazz and was devoted to her family.

Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death 22 years ago by her husband, Clozelle T. Davidson. She is survived by her children Betty J. Adams of Hollister, Jacquelyn Davidson of Los Angeles, Brenda Davidson of Sacramento, Claude Davidson, William Davidson and Henry Davidson of Hollister, James Davidson of Oregon, siblings Lucy Johnson of Virginia and William Chatman of Texas. She was preceded in death by two children, Julia Davidson and Bertha Gill, and five grandchildren. She also is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home on Thanksgiving Day from 9 a.m. until noon and on Friday beginning at 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery. Donations are preferred to the Cancer Society-Pancreatic Research c/o the mortuary chapel.
